As much as I love the season of Lent, Holy week brings with it much melancholy for this girl. I can’t begin to explain it … it just happens, every year right after Palm Sunday. I know why they call today “Good Friday,” but I often ponder the devastation the disciples and Mary must have experienced on this day… and it clearly wasn’t good. I know, Sunday’s coming … thank God.

In lieu of a typical organizing, home staging, or housekeeping post, Wounded Kneeand because it’s Easter weekend, I simply want to wish everyone a blessed Easter and share how the names Straighten Your Paths and Shine evolved as the names for the organizing business and the housekeeping division.

Leaving the work world, as I knew it in 2002, and starting up my own business was far more than a knee jerk reaction. After a great deal of prayer and following God’s leading for what the mission of this business would become, the name Straighten Your Paths came out of scripture, more specifically Proverbs 3: 5-6. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Ten years later, and once again after a great deal of prayer and following God’s leading, the name for our housekeeping division, Shine, came out of scripture … Isaiah 60:1. “Arise, shine, for your light has come and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.”

Our mission is simply to serve as a positive presence while providing organizing and housekeeping solutions for our clients during chaotic and uncertain times. For more on our vision and values, you can click HERE.

I love how God is in control of history and how he weaves together all our lives into his plan. He’s taught me countless lessons and has showered me with his grace and love over and over again. I’ve learned that he always brings blessings out of the most difficult situations. And, I know that he will never let me down … ever.

Wishing you all a very blessed Easter weekend,
